One thing you seem to hear people say a lot now days is that they do their devotions, go to church, and are all around good christians but they can’t figure out what God is trying to tell them. They say that they want to know what God wants them to do with their life, or how to handle a certain situation but when they pray about it they never get an answer. This brings out one truth….You have to listen to hear an answer! In the world we live in today we have school, the essential TV shows after school (Psych for me), video games, the computer (which is not all bad because you are using it to read this) but the point is there are a ton of things that we listen to in bulk during just an average day. If we would take just a slice of time out of our day to listen to God, he will answer. Think about this:d what is the time in everyones life when they learn the most? When you are a baby. When you are a baby is when you begin to learn the basic necessities for living in this world. You learn to take your first steps, say your first words, do things by your self, and the basic functions of society. Now why is it that you learn so much at this age? You don’t talk, all you do is learn, eat , and sleep. You observe and listen and then you know what to do and how to do things. The same concept can be applied to our spiritual life. You say you want to know God and hear what he has to say, but do you take the time to get to know him through his word and listen to him? Its hard to learn when all you do is talk. So take them time to listen and God will talk back, he wants to help you and give you guidance. All you have to do is give him the chance.
Prov. 1:5 “Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance.”
